The Society’s aim is to promote the interdisciplinary research of legal and ethical issues caused by medical science’s applications, especially the rapid developments of biomedicine. Indicatively, the Society will cover issues such as transplantations, medical liability, beginning and end of human life, euthanasia, abortion, trafficking of body organs, sex change, individual problems of the methods of medically assisted reproduction, genetic tests and gene therapy, cloning, experiments on humans, pain of patients, stem cell research, sex and biological characteristics selection.

Beside of the research in the areas above, the Society will also conduct public interventions, scientifically reasoned, on major issues related to the interweaving of medicine, law and morality that concern the Greek society.
